Scope of Works:
• Construction of a 21 m tall free-standing in-situ concrete lift shaft
• Warehouse slab toppings and structural infill works within existing heritage buildings
• Public domain concrete works including pavements, pathways, stairs and associated structural elements
• Detailed formwork, reinforcement and concrete works integrated within the Sub Base Platypus redevelopment
Key Challenges:
• Integration of new structural concrete elements within a heritage-listed, adaptive reuse environment
• Working within a constrained harbour foreshore site with limited access and restricted laydown areas
• High public interface requirements within an active precinct
• Complex staging and coordination with multiple trades across refurbishment and public domain works
Outcomes:
Rodri Civil successfully delivered complex structural and architectural concrete works to specification, supporting the transformation of the former naval base into a revitalised public precinct. The project enhanced accessibility, structural integrity and public amenity, reinforcing Rodri Civil’s capability in technically demanding commercial and heritage infrastructure environments.
