WM Group Homes

Scope of Works:

• External works including brickwork and new concrete driveways and carports designed for accessibility and usability, particularly for wheelchair users, in alignment with compliance requirements.

• Installation of ramps and connecting pathways to integrate with the carports and building access points, ensuring functional ingress/egress for all users.

Key Challenges:

• Delivering construction works within an existing operational community environment, given the site was part of Wesley Mission’s broader care and residential facilities.

• Navigating COVID-19 restrictions and workforce constraints that affected the health and aged care sector broadly, including supply chains, staffing and access coordination during peak pandemic periods.

• Managing safety and access to sensitive areas while undertaking demolition, remediation and new surface works.

Outcomes:

• Delivery of a high-quality external environment that supports improved accessibility, safety and usability for residents and support staff.

• Upgraded pathways, driveways and hardstand areas that enhance circulation and support operational requirements for care delivery in a residential setting.

• Successful coordination and completion of works within a live site, with mitigated disruptions to adjacent community services and operations.
